Sentinel · 24-Hour Heightened Monitoring
Sentinel is a user-directed 24-hour monitoring session. Choose the camera, explain the situation, and write the exact visible condition that matters. Your instruction becomes the Law of the Sentinel.

The Law of the Sentinel
Sentinel is not a generic alert switch. The instruction should describe something specific and visible in the selected camera view.
My horse is under observation after possible colic signs.
Notify me whenever my horse is visibly lying down.
How Sentinel works
The session stays grounded in the view you choose and the visible instruction you confirm.
Use the supported fixed camera with the clearest view of the horse or barn area that matters.
Give BarnPilot the practical context for the heightened watch without asking it to make a diagnosis.
State one behavior or condition the camera can see. This instruction becomes the law for the session.
Sentinel evaluates incoming imagery against your instruction and may send more notifications than Watcher.
Alert behavior
During the active session, Sentinel evaluates supported camera imagery against the exact condition you confirmed. Each visible match can trigger an alert so you can look in, assess the situation, and take the next appropriate action.

Example situations
Sentinel can add awareness in serious and ordinary situations, but the instruction must remain observable and specific.
Example: “Notify me whenever my horse is visibly lying down.” Sentinel does not diagnose colic or determine whether the behavior is medically significant.
Example: “Notify me when visible signs of active foaling begin.” Sentinel does not predict birth or replace an experienced person at the barn.
Use a specific instruction appropriate to the camera view, then respond according to your care plan and professional guidance.
Safety boundaries
Sentinel evaluates visible imagery against your words. It cannot see outside the frame, understand the horse's complete condition, or guarantee that an event will be detected.

Sentinel does not diagnose conditions, replace veterinary care, or guarantee detection. Never delay contacting a veterinarian or providing appropriate in-person observation because a session is active.
Sentinel pricing
Each Sentinel purchase activates one 24-hour session. The App Store confirms the final localized price before purchase.
Sentinel questions
One Sentinel session runs for 24 hours. BarnPilot sends a reminder two hours before the session ends.
Define one specific condition or behavior that can be seen in the selected camera view. Clear visible instructions work better than a diagnosis or vague concern.
No. An alert means supported imagery matched your instruction. You decide what it means and what action is appropriate.
No. Sentinel evaluates visible imagery. It does not diagnose colic, predict birth, replace in-person observation, or replace veterinary care.
When one condition matters
Choose the camera, define the condition, and keep the active session connected to the rest of BarnPilot.
