Horse Show Packing Checklist

A complete, calm pass through the things that need to reach the show with you and your horse.

The best packing list is not the longest one. It is the one that follows your actual horse, classes, weather, travel, and stabling plan.

Before anything goes in the trailer

Confirm the conditions first. Requirements vary by venue, governing body, destination, and horse, so use the official prize list and your professionals as the final authority.

Plans and paperwork
Make the list horse-specific.

A day ship, an overnight show, and an interstate trip are three different packing jobs. Remove what does not apply and add the items your horse relies on.

For the horse

Feed, water, and daily care
Grooming and horse clothing

Tack and equipment

The riding setup
Do one complete assembly check.

Put the full competition setup together at home. A small missing part is much easier to solve before the trailer leaves.

For the rider

Competition and barn clothing

Trailer, support kit, and show day

Travel and practical support
Safety comes before the checklist.

Trailer readiness, travel documents, medications, and emergency plans should be confirmed with the qualified professionals responsible for your horse, vehicle, and event requirements.

Keep the plan with the horse

Build the show day once, then share it.

BarnPilot keeps schedules, tack, nutrition, records, and show details connected to the horse they belong to. BarnPilot Free supports one active horse without a subscription.
