Learning Spanish with Anabella

How years of Spanish lessons shaped the way I think about communication and language access in the products I build.

I've been studying Spanish with Anabella for years, and over that time she's become a great friend. She has taught me so much, and her influence has found its way into parts of my life that I wouldn't have expected when we first started working together, including BarnPilot and my other platform, Gulfstream Intelligence.

Working with Anabella helped inspire me to build the translator into BarnPilot and make the app work in different languages. Learning Spanish has made me appreciate the effort it takes to communicate in a language you're still learning. That experience has stayed with me as I build both platforms, and it's one reason I care about making them easier for people who speak different languages to use.

I wanted to introduce her to the BarnPilot community because I've learned so much from her and would love for more people to know about her work. Through Hablamos en español, she teaches Spanish and creates courses and resources for people working toward their own goals with the language. If you've been thinking about learning Spanish or improving what you already know, she's someone I'm happy to recommend.

For students preparing to certify their Spanish proficiency, she offers a complete SIELE preparation program. It's designed for people who already have a foundation in Spanish and want to prepare for the exam. Her website explains the program and how to enroll.

You can also get to know her teaching through the Hablamos en español YouTube channel, where she shares lessons and exam preparation videos. Take a look, watch a few videos, and subscribe if you'd like to follow her work.

I'm grateful for everything Anabella has taught me and for the friendship we've built over the years. It's a pleasure to share her work here and to acknowledge the part she's played in my own. Gracias por todo, Anabella.
